I know being apart from your special someone is hard. Just getting by and dealing with all the emotions you’re feeling takes a lot of strength and courage.

You need the compassion that your friends will naturally give you because they care about you.
Your friends will drag you out of the house when you are crying and force you to think about other things. They’ll make sure you have fun.
Your friends will listen to you and they will support you. They’ll remind you that you are still the same beautiful person you were before you met your ex.
Maybe your friend is someone you’ve known since you were in school. Maybe it’s your Mother. Whoever it is, call them now and don’t be afraid to get their help.
2. Don’t leave your ex’s things in your house. It’s hard, but give back those things which belong to your ex. Not having them around the house will help you feel stronger and deal with what is going on.
You may want to keep these things in the hope it is an excuse for your ex to make contact with you. But in the meantime, all just serves as a reminder to something painful you are going through.
Give these things back, and explain to your love that you are not getting rid of them completely, and that your door is still open if they ever want to talk.
3. Remember, your ex has flaws too. After a breakup, we naturally idolize everything about our ex. We are going to miss this person so we think of all the things we are going to miss the most.
But be fair to yourself and remember that your ex is not perfect and has flaws too.
4. Stay busy. The most positive thing to come from a breakup is opportunity. You have an opportunity to take up new interests or renew old ones. Maybe it’s as simple as taking up a new hobby. Or maybe you decide to completely re-invent yourself and take on something major like starting a business or going back to school. You’ll know what’s best for you. And now is as good a time as any to get started. It will take your mind off of what you are going through and give you a direction to go in.
5. Think about what have learned from this breakup. Undoubtedly, you will learn things that will help you when you do get back together or if you end up in a new relationship.
