Discovering how to get over a break up can be a tremendous help in overcoming the many devastating feelings most people experience. The good news is that you don’t have to feel this way for long, not only can you emerge quickly out of this quagmire, there’s an excellent chance that you can turn this around and get your ex back even if, at the moment, you’re the only one who wants to reconcile.
I’m going to quickly cover four simple, but little known, steps that will get you through the initial period of the breakup, and at the end of this post I’ll point you in the direction of some excellent tactics and resources that can stop the breakup dead in it’s tracks and get your loved one back in your arms. 1) Distraction and Distance:
Immediately after a breakup take the time to develop new activates or interests. Find something you’ve always wanted to do, but never started, and go for it. Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn to fly, take that trip South, join a dancing class, whatever; this is the time to do it, to experience new things. This new focus and the distraction it provides will clear away the incessant negative chattering of your thoughts, replacing them with positives and bring new joys into your life.
These new interest and activities will also impose a needed distance between you and your ex and give you time to relax, learn what works and to plan how to get your ex back if that’s what you want to do.
By enjoying new things and maintaining a distance from your ex you will also be demonstrating that your life goes on, and you’re having fun without them. This is an important first step because your ex will notice you’re moving on and it creates a mindset in your ex that’s going to help you get them back.
